Born on the mainland but raised here as well as internationally, Margarette earned a bachelor of fine arts—summa cum laude—from the University of California, San Diego, where she minored in Polynesia art and culture. She has been a licensed contractor for 22 years; has earned LEED (Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design) Associate Partner and Turner School of Construction Management certifications; is an American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) partner; has write-ups in popular design books like Hawaiian Home Now, magazines, and newspapers; and has been a licensed real estate agent for 5 years.
